Is TransferNow secure?

Yes. Security and confidentiality are key priorities at TransferNow. Our service includes multiple protection mechanisms to ensure the security of file transfers, storage, and access to shared files.

Data encryption

Files and data are protected using modern encryption technologies commonly used by secure cloud services.

  • Data is encrypted in transit using the SSL/TLS 1.3+ (HTTPS) protocol to protect transfers against interception.
  • Files are encrypted at rest on our servers using the AES 256-bit encryption standard.
  • Each encryption key is itself protected and encrypted with a set of regularly rotating master keys.
  • TransferNow also supports Server-Side Encryption with Customer-Provided Keys (SSE-C), allowing you to use your own passphrase or encryption keys to secure your file transfers.

Additional protections

Several features help strengthen the security of your transfers:

  • Password protection for transfers
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) to secure access to your account
  • Secure download links
  • Transfer tracking and history

These mechanisms help ensure that only authorized recipients can access the files you send.

Secure infrastructure

Files are stored on a secure cloud infrastructure designed to ensure availability, performance, and data protection.

Depending on your plan or configuration, it may also be possible to choose the file storage region, which can help meet specific technical or regulatory requirements.

Automatic file deletion

To help maintain data confidentiality:

  • Files are automatically deleted after their expiration date.
  • Transfers can also be deleted manually at any time from your dashboard.
