# Why am I being asked to confirm my payment?

Since the new EU PSD2 directive to improve the security of online payments with strong authentication (or SCA), **your bank may require manual confirmation** from you to confirm your payment and continue using your TransferNow account.

When your bank makes the request, we trigger a dialog box to ask you to confirm payment or cancel your account in case you no longer wish to use your TransferNow account.
