# Is TransferNow secure?

Yes. Security and confidentiality are key priorities at TransferNow. Our service includes multiple protection mechanisms to ensure the security of file transfers, storage, and access to shared files.

## Data encryption

Files and data are protected using modern encryption technologies commonly used by secure cloud services.

* Data is **encrypted in transit** using the **SSL/TLS 1.3+ (HTTPS)** protocol to protect transfers against interception.
* Files are **encrypted at rest** on our servers using the **AES 256-bit encryption standard**.
* Each encryption key is itself **protected and encrypted with a set of regularly rotating master keys**.
* TransferNow also supports **Server-Side Encryption with Customer-Provided Keys (SSE-C)**, allowing you to use your own passphrase or encryption keys to secure your file transfers.

## Additional protections

Several features help strengthen the security of your transfers:

* **Password protection for transfers**
* **Two-factor authentication (2FA)** to secure access to your account
* **Secure download links**
* **Transfer tracking and history**

These mechanisms help ensure that only authorized recipients can access the files you send.

## Secure infrastructure

Files are stored on a **secure cloud infrastructure** designed to ensure availability, performance, and data protection.

Depending on your plan or configuration, it may also be possible to **choose the file storage region**, which can help meet specific technical or regulatory requirements.

## Automatic file deletion

To help maintain data confidentiality:

* Files are **automatically deleted after their expiration date**.
* Transfers can also be **deleted manually at any time** from your dashboard.
